By installing or using Throttle (the "Extension"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not install or use the Extension.
These Terms apply to all users of Throttle, including users of the free version and Pro subscribers.
Throttle is a browser extension that enhances the experience of using AI chat platforms including ChatGPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), and Google Gemini by:
Throttle is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Throttle. By using the Extension, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent.
You agree to use Throttle only for lawful purposes and in ways that comply with these Terms. You agree not to use Throttle to:
We reserve the right to terminate access to Pro features for users who violate these terms.
Throttle offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription. The free tier includes core functionality. Pro features (including additional presets, identity profiles, and customization options) require a paid subscription.
Throttle and all associated code, design, and content are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or other brand elements.
You retain ownership of any content you enter into Throttle's identity profile fields. By entering this content, you grant us no license to use it — it stays on your device.
Throttle is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:
Because Throttle works by modifying the interface of third-party AI platforms, it may break when those platforms update their interfaces. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain compatibility but cannot guarantee continuous operation.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use Throttle.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Throttle shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Throttle operates on top of third-party AI platforms. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms of service. We are not responsible for the actions, content, availability, or policies of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or any other third-party service.
Your use of Throttle is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify active Pro subscribers by email. Continued use of Throttle after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
You may stop using Throttle and uninstall the Extension at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate Pro access for violations of these Terms, with or without notice.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
